There are two main types of resin surfacing.
Resin Bond and Resin Bound
Resin Bound
Resin bound surfacing is where the resin is mixed in with the aggregate to ensure all the aggregate is coated with the resin. The resin mixture is then hand trowelled to give a nice even smooth surface. It is also permeable so allows the rain water to disperse. We would recommend the attractive finish of the resin bound surfacing driveway, path or patio.
Resin Bond
This type of surfacing is where the resin is laid on the surface and the aggregate is spread on top. This gives a rougher finish.
There are a variety of colours of aggregate to choose from and a choice of edgings using different materials, also a choice of colour, style, shape and design.

Resin Driveway & Pathways
Resin Bound makes excellent driveways, paths and patios. It can be used for car parks, play areas, courtyards, forecourts, pedestrian walkways and also for swimming pool surrounds and even internal flooring.
Resin Bound Surfacing
The resin bound mixture can be laid on to most surfaces, so if you have an existing driveway we can check to see if this is possible.
There are some surfaces that are not suitable and therefore, we would need to dig out the area, lay hard core, level and compact. Lay an appropriate base before we can trowel on the resin bound mixture. Tarmacadam makes an excellent base for applying the resin.
On an existing driveway that is suitable, we do need to prepare it before laying the resin. The area is cleaned, any cracks or pot holes filled in and when it is ready we will apply the resin bound mixture and ensure it has a smooth finish.
